Teri O'Brien hosts a talk show on WLS, Chicago's Newstalk 890, Sundays 9am-Noon. An amazed friend once described her as "one of the only people I know who reads both the Wall Street Journal and the National Enquirer." This characterization is accurate, but incomplete. She also reads National Review, American Enterprise, Men's Health and Dog Fancy, for one. It does, though, give some indication of her interest in both politics and popular culture, it only hints at her sometimes quirky and unconventional, but always interesting, worldview and her diverse background and interests.
Teri is a graduate of Arizona State University (undergrad and law school) and is a self-described "recovering (as in currently non-practicing) attorney" who believes the most important amendments to the constitution are the 5th and 2nd. She is the author of three books, hundreds of articles and a law review article that was cited by the U.S. Supreme Court (albeit in a Berger opinion, but it still counts!) After several years practicing law, Teri returned to school, eventually receiving a master's degree in Exercise Science from the University of Illinois-Chicago, one of two colleges (Elmhurst college is the other) of which she is a member of the adjunct faculty.
Teri got her start in commercial radio hosting a weekly talk show on Chicago's WCKG 105.9 FM. She is also a frequent contributor to print and broadcast media, most recently as a contestant on NBC's "The Weakest Link."
