Rick DiMaio

WFLD - METEOROLOGIST

 
   

Rick DiMaio joined FOX News Chicago in September 1995. Currently he is the weathercaster for "FOX Thing in the Morning," "FOX News at 5" and "FOX News at 6 am." 

Rick came to FOX News from United Airlines where he had been the staff meteorologist for ten years. During his tenure at United, Rick designed and produced an International Pilots Weather Manual for the airline's European and North Atlantic operations. He also produced various in-house case studies on diverse weather conditions and supervised and co-published a one-year thunderstorm study. 

Prior to his work at United, Rick held the position of Broadcast Meteorologist for Metro Weather Service, forecasting the weather for radio and television stations, newspapers and business clients throughout the Northeast, Great Lakes and Mid-Atlantic regions. 

Rick majored in meteorology and minored in marine science at State University of New York, College at Oswego and received his bachelor's degree in meteorology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in August 1985. While in college, he was the weathercaster for WTOP-TV at Oswego and WHA-TV in Madison. 

Rick is a member of the American Meteorological Society, National Weather Association and the Airline Dispatch Federation.
