WDRV-FM - RADIO PERSONALITY

I was an extremely average student. I would much rather have been listening to the radio than sitting in class trying to figure out how I was going to ace any number of upcoming tests. Be careful what you wish for because now I've been listening to the radio professionally for the past 22 years. I don't know what else I would do because, remember, I was an extremely average student.

The first four records I bought with my own money were Sherry by The Four Seasons, Breaking Up Is Hard To Do by Neal Sedaka, Alley Cat by Bent Fabric, and Monster Mash by Bobby "Boris" Pickett and the Crypt Kicker Five. Hey, gimme a break...I was in 6th grade...what the hell did I know? Now thousands of records later, I still have in my possession those first four treasures of grooved wax.

I always knew that when I grew up, I would end up doing this. Thanks to Bob Coburn, who heard something in that tape I sent him a very long time ago. I've been "growing up" in Chicago for the past 20 years now, and starting with WMET in 1979, I've been up and down Michigan Avenue more times than the CTA’s 151 bus. WDRV is where I call home now.

I'm always mindfully grateful to you, The Stroud Crowd, who have always been so supportive and so faithful. As long as you'll continue to indulge me in my musical whims, I'll be around. I mean, what else am I gonna do? I was an extremely average student.
